#SoccerkidzSunday @ Passmores Academy (02/11/14)

"Every kid around the world who plays soccer wants to be Pele. I have a great responsibility to show them not just how to be like a soccer player, but how to be like a man." {Pele}

This weekends Sunday session we had record numbers at Soccerkidz, so another well done to everyone involved.

This weekend we had planned on splitting the group into two teams of Bears and Cubs groups however after doing our group warm up together we realized the best way to approach the session was having everyone together and assigning a coach in assisting the slightly younger less able children in the group during our skill building games. We did finish in our two groups with the Cubs doing the Soccerkidz Penalty shootout and the Bears taking part in their first attack vs defense exercise!

Coach Ben... Each week we will try our best to challenge all our our players with different activities and progressive coaching techniques. As everyone within the club knows our main focus is to have fun but at the same time we would like to teach them a number of values associated with sport, team-play and healthy living. values and attributes such as friendship, sportsmanship, determination and competitiveness are key components of a Soccerkidz Team.

"Dribble for Gold game"
Congratulations to our first winner of the dribble for gold game, Jamie!

Blog - Sunday 26/10/14

A really big well done to everyone involved with the Sunday Club. We are very pleased to announce that as from next Sunday our players will be inducted into Brucey's Cubs and Beckham's Bears teams (age specific).

Session will run simultaneously.

Coaching Report:

The sports hall has been an interesting change from our outdoor venue. From a coaching perspective we are learning and adapting to the differences in surface, the hard flat floor makes it more difficult for our youngsters to control and stop the ball....however this challenge alone is developing their core football skills faster than on grass, I believe the kids can improve quicker at their age on this surface however it may prove to be an annoying task to complete for some....we assure everyone that when we get to the point of competitive team play we will find it easy to win :)!

Coach Mason.... "I'm very happy with our new teams and I'm looking forward to our development journey through the stages of our SCDS (Soccerkidz child development system)."

Coach Ben...."Today I was passing and receiving with a few of our youngest players.....I saw fantastic balance and co-ordination from children as young as 2 years old, successfully pass a ball to my feet with consistent accuracy. It really was a joy for us all to watch and I am so proud of all of the boys and girls in the club. We improve every week."

SK Blog - Wednesday 22/10/14

#SoccerkidzSundays @ Mark Hall Sports Centre

Unfortunately we had a small number of children in our "SK Cubs" group due to early after school Halloween discos and a few parents not getting the.....group split, time change message. However with that being said we had great fun with the guys that did, we even managed to muscle in on the next door dance class space for the 15:00-15:50 Cubs session but we could hold the space for the Bears @ 16:00-16:50.

Coach Mason issued a challenge to all Soccerkidz on Wednesday..."The Dribble for Gold Game". He lined up all of our wizard hat cones in a line, with just enough room between each cone for the ball to fit through, knowone managed it this time around. However Coach Ben showed our players that it could be done and has put a Golden Nugget (pound) and Soccerkidz t-shirt up for grabs for the person that completes the challenge first.

Bruce The Bear....."Good luck Soccerkidz, you'll have it in no time"

(Note: Soccerkidz Ltd will be running sessions for our Soccerkidz Ltd Elite team in the coming weeks once the players are ready. This invitation will be totally optional.)

#SoccerkidzSundays @ Passmores Academy (19/10/14)

We would like to thank all of our club members and The GPCA community centre in Harlow for the part they have played in the development of SoccerKidz Ltd.

we have successfully changed venue to the fantastic Passmores Academy which has given us the platform to further the ambitions of our club.

Coaching Report:

Many of our players are showing great signs of development...we are now coming to the stage where the ability range within the group is growing, this may be down to our new recruits not having the same contact time as players that have been in our club for a while.

Soccerkidz Ltd prime focus is set on "helping the introduction of children into sport, in our case football." We promote a wide range of principals related to our enhanced child development program (SCDP). Information can be found via our website.

As a result of our developing system, we are soon to invite players onto our Soccerkidz Elite Program.

#SoccerkidzSaturday

This week we challenged "Beckhams Bears" with a slightly more advanced games...the children managed well with the initial dynamics however "progression 2" proved a bit to tricky.

SSG (Small Sided Game)

We built upon last weeks game scenario by implementing the same conditions as before. Our players are now learning the basic concepts to the game and we feel they are ready for this stage of development.

Coach Ben...."Great session Bears! We've got some great goalkeepers amongst us."

Coach Mason...."Our team found it difficult to score as the other team had 2 goalkeepers for a long period of the match"

Venue Open Day @ Mark Hall - 15/10/14

Coach Ben....."Thank you to everyone that come down to support our new Soccerkidz venue @ Mark Hall Sports Complex. We had just enough balls for everyone.... I don't think coach mason was too impressed with the flat ball I gave him."

Usually on opening days our max has been around 6 Soccer Kids!

Apologies for night club next door.....the decibels really picked up at times but we managed to have great fun dancing and kicking... next week we have booked the hall for 2 hours, so we can split the boys into 2 club teams.

Bruce the Bears Competition time.

Our mascot Bruce the Bear is giving away a yellow Soccerkidz t-shirt to the child that comes up with Bruce's favorite club name for the younger team. If you would like to submit a club name entry then leave your names on the comments page, we are looking forward to some crackers!

(?????) 2years to 3years, 6months.

(This is a unique age for children as it is usually one of their first times in a club environment. Our parents play a huge role in supporting the children and assessing when the time is right for their introduction into physical activity.... The coaches will probably have a pretty good idea if you don't.

Beckham's Bears - 3years, 7months to 6th Birthday.

(Our aim for this club is to grow, develop and build as a team - Team work is our number 1 objective and friendships made on the road to success will play a crucial role in the children's team development. None...the...Less our boys and girls will benefit greatly in many areas of child development both physically and psychologically ......."Fun Is Our Top Priority!"

#SoccerkidzSaturdays @ STFC (September 2014)

During September our Soccerkidz numbers averaged around 12-18 children each week. Due to the consistent participation rates week in week out we were able to split the groups into 2 separate age groups (2 years to 3 years, 6 months & 3 years 7 months to 6 years). This has enabled our coaches to deliver more age and ability specific coaching session, in hand promoting an increase in the children's all round development.

We have noticed an evident increase in all of the children's attention and listening skills as well as a clear increase their physical attributes IE; kicking, running and team-cohesion.

#SoccerkidzSundays @ The GPCA (October 2014)

Since we kick started Soccerkidz Sundays in August we have had the pleasure of using The GPCA playing fields where the weather has been very kind to us. We have learnt that coaching the children outside benefits them more than using an indoor facility due to a number of factors: the ball being easier to control on the grass, the space in which we can use and the noise reduction.

These factors have helped our Soccerkidz develop faster than expected and we recently put their development to the test as we attempted our first conditioned game situation for the older players in the group before our move into an indoor facility. Unfortunately the team wasn't quite ready to tackle this concept :) !

However we will not be undeterred from attempting the game situation again, we will just need to put in a couple more weeks on the training ground.

#SoccerkidzSaturdays @ STFC (October 11th 2014)

Major Coaching Breakthrough Update:

This weekends coaching session was the second time we attempted a football match scenario. our first attempt was over month ago to this date and was unsuccessful as many of the children found themselves distracted or not having focus on the conditions set by our coaches. Needless to say we went back to the drawing board and spent the next month coaching them team work, ball control and introduced opposing coaching games in preparation for football match situation .

This weekend aside from our coaching games we played a 10 minute football match with a number of balls positioned in the middle of the pitch, one defending player on either side and the rest attacking their opposing teams goal. The attacking players soul job was to "kick the balls in the goal" whilst the coaches continually fed the balls back to the middle.

Coach Ben...... "As an experienced coach of 9 years working in the industry this weekends session was a major breakthrough for what we have and are trying to achieve in terms of child development through football. I am looking forward to gradually taking away conditions used in the game for effective practices, towards just having the one ball and the kids playing in a real game scenario."
